Ball Joint Press

Has anyone ever had any issues with a ball joint press not being wide enough to press in the lower ball joint? All the ones I can rent are 6" wide (C-press). That isn't wide enough to put the cap on top of the control arm and press it in from the bottom. Am I missing something? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hard to see with your picture, but yes i have a c-clamp press. pressing it out was easy, however the c-press opening is not wide enough to press it back in. mine is a 2013, the lower aluminum control arm is thick. with the c-press fully open, it will not extend below and above the top of the control arm to press it in. You need to have a cap on the top for the c-press to clamp on to push the ball joint up into the control arm. I will post a picture tonight.
