Hi everyone, first post here.

My truck is a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Diesel.

I had a very unfortunate battery fire. The truck had been sitting for about 6 hours. The battery on driver side caught fire, and melted right through the hood release cable so I couldn't pop the hood to put the fire out. It took me a few minutes of panic and then with an axe to get through the grill and hood latch. During that time, the fire damaged a wiring harness - which I am still trying to identify - and part of the hydraulic control unit (of which I am still trying to find part numbers that are accurate). I have a few questions if you all don't mind.

First, the damaged anti-lock brake controller is just the top plastic part with the electrical connectors. The connectors and the harness melted, but the bottom of that unit where the hardlines are connected (Hydraulic Control Unit??) seems to be in good shape. I have spoken with auto parts store folks and my local Dodge dealer, and have come up with a couple of part numbers, but it's not clear in the diagrams which is which.

I have found this diagram and there are two numbers that look like they are pointing to the same part. #3 seems to be pointing to both the top plastic part with electrical connectors, and the bottom metal part that has the hardlines. Also, #4 seems to be pointing to just the top plastic part with electrical connectors, but it's not very clear.

The two part numbers that the Dodge dealer gave me, are
5114538AB - which I believe the Dodge dealer told me was the bottom part. (he wasn't clear either)
68078059AA - which I believe is the top part with electrical connectors. (Again, he wasn't clear).

But those part numbers may be swapped...

Both are dealer parts & discontinued.

That is about all the information I have been able to gather on this.

My questions to you all are:
1. Does anyone know how to identify which is which so I can make sure I am ordering the correct part?
2. Does anyone have any secret tricks to locating a part such as this.
3. Does anyone have any idea of which wiring harness plugs into this top plastic part?

Thank you in advance for any information you may have on this.
