Battery light?

So I’m having an issue. I changed my alternator and light still came on so I had battery checked and was told battery was bad so new battery. Light still on. Took truck to mech. And he is telling me I need to change the alt. Which is not even a week old. Any suggestions on where to go from here.

Most Auto parts stores can check your alternator, Why did you replace the alternator in the first place was the light on, some alternators can be bad out of the box.

Where did you purchase your new alternator , lots that come with a lifetime warranty seem to mean you will be changing it out for the rest of your lifetime . if the “new”alt tests bad ,go somewhere else for a different brand . Good luck with this do over . let us know How it turns out.

Batteries can also be bad out of box. Happened to me.

Either or both of the above. Seen both, does not happen a lot, but can. Get replacement alternator, and have alternator/battery load checked and go from there. Just sounds like a combination hit. WOULD also help to know what U R driving, ie., Year, Make, trim, engine, etc.,.
