Does anyone know what the battery voltage screen on the EVIC is actually measuring? Is it the battery voltage or the charging system voltage? And what is considered "Normal" for a 4th Gen Hemi, engine running? Mine sometimes reads 13 volts and sometimes 14 volts, but the difference does not seem dependent on lights, accessories, etc. I bought the truck (a 2014) as a CPO late last year and, as far as I know, the battery is the original factory one. I'm concerned that the periodic 13 volt readings while running may indicate that the battery is starting to fail or at least is not performing as it should.

I'll chime in, but not from my Ram experience. As a rule for lots of other vehicles usually anywhere from low 13 to 14 is normal, Old vehicles i believe charged at a constant voltage, but more recent 90s/2000 and newer vary. My work truck ( 2010 Chevy 2500) reads a constant 14 most of the time but sometimes when i first crank it for the day or after using the inverter some with the truck not running ,it reads little above that. Ill have to pay attention to my Ram this weekend and i'll try to get back with you sunday.

average battery life is 5 years. look over the battery, there "should" be a sticker with a month/year label. if it is indeed the original battery, its safe to say its probably on its way out.

fully charged battery (engine off) 12.6v and above
engine running it should be between 13.7ish and 14.7ish

anything below 12v is a dead battery

It's only available on the 3.5" display on the gas trucks since they don't have an analog volt meter. It's also available for the diesel in the 3.5" or 7" version because they have the extra Def guage where the amp guage would go. Your Sport is not equipped with one.

If you were to swap out the headunit to one of many aftermarket deals - they alot of times now have readouts for all sorts of gauges including voltage - just something to consider.
