I have a 2012 1500 Ram and am looking for a cover, maybe a cap? but one that is even with the cab roof, not higher in the rear like those Lear's.

If I get a cover (Tonneau?) how do they work?
For example when you need to haul something tall can they be raised up?
If so do they lock in place or do you have to strap them down?

Thanks,

Steve

A hard fiberglass tonneau has to be removed completely when hauling tall items. There are many roll-up or folding ones that work great, but won't be color-matched, nor as secure as a fiberglass one.

For a cap/topper, I'd check local retailers.

I'm a big fan of the retrax cover.. you can kinda see it in my sig pic on the box. It rolls up when you need more height, or can be closed to create a secure storage area. They are strong enough to stand on, there's no fabric involved, its all Lexan that works real well. I bought it for my 1500 QCSB and moved it to my 3500 MCSB when I bought it. I don't know if I'd own a truck without it.
