Anyone add bed lights to your truck? What did you use? How did you wire them up? Ive seen the LED strips under the rails but I’m wondering if there are any other options out there

I just added puddle/running board lights and I used 5630 strip led lights from Amazon that had 3m body tape on one side. I wired mine to a relay and tapped into my footwell lighting in the cab so mine come on when I unlock with my key fob or the door is opened. Not sure if there is a better option to tap into for the bed but I assume it would work the same. Someone else on here has a thread where they wired in bed LEDs and running board lighys they used a switch on the tailgate. Do a search for "running board lights" it should come up.

Theres another- although you're looking for alternates for LED strip lighting, I thought the tailgate switching and trailer light tapping was clever in this one.. and could be applied to any type of light as long as it doesn't draw too much power.

Thanks, that’s a great thread. I’m not opposed to led strips, I’ve just never had luck with anything held on with tape on the bottom of a horizontal surface. Wanted to see what else is out there
