So I've searched the forum and couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I'm going to ask.
I have a 14 1500 laramie crew cab 5'7" bed.
What are the guys with 13-15 trucks doing for bed lights? I have a tonneau cover so I would like some light in there. I would like a factory look and not have to splice wires. I found a site that has every mopar wire fitting imaginable. I'm more than capable of making a harness that would plug into my reverse light, cargo light, trailer harness or elsewhere.
I've read tapping the cargo light will give me a current overload. Tapping the trailer harness might make my truck think a trailer is connected. If I go with the reverse lights, I'm guessing they would turn on with the key fob unlock and fade. I would love to have a switch on the tailgate.
I'm less concerned about the light fixture as I am getting the power from the proper circuit.
Let's hear your thoughts.
