Ok need some input here. Knock has gotten way worse and it's got a heavy slap consistently. Anyone have a trusted shop to do an engine replacement in or around Brooklyn NY? I'll be posting a separate thread asking this question as well in hopes it'll reach more people.

Update found a shop that has come recommend and decided to go with a power train reman instead of jasper due to the extended warranty. Engine with extended warranty $5,100, install kit $400, new intake manifold $450 and some fluids $200. Labor $1900.

Sucks but the truck has almost no rust and everything else seems like it was well kept. Plus since covid the used truck market is inflated.

Try some marvel mystery oil. My 2012 with 112,000 was ticking so i added 1/2 bottle with new oil and it stopped. It gets inbetween the metal atoms.
