Best tape to stick to dash

Hi all,

I bought a car dvr camera for my 2016 1500 sport. It of course has a power cable that has a cigarette lighter adapter. I want to tape down the cable to the dash but having a heck of a time finding a tape that will actually stick that doesn't look hideous. Ideally the tape would come in black to match the dash and be perhaps 1/2" wide so it has the least visual impact. I also don't want to spend a small fortune on some specialty tape. I figure someone on here probably knows a good option for this.

Gaffer's tape would probably work.
Your better off mounting the dash cam high on the window and running the power wire across the top and tucked in down the "A" pillar to under the dash. If the provided power supply isn't long enough, buy one that is or a hardwire kit.

I was wondering about gaffer's. I've heard of it, but never used it. Have you actually used it?

haven't used it to stick stuff to a dashboard but it has stuck to just about everything I've used it on. It comes off fairly clean too

This stuff has worked well on a dash item. It works like crazy just about anywhere.

Thanks @tron67j. That might be more permanent than would be a good idea for this use case (sounds like contact cement in the description, LOL!) .

Good idea as suggested in post #2 ref running cable.

If U gotta stick tape, maybe Gorilla or Duct, but prob look lousy.

These look better then plain tape !
3M double sided tape can be used it the tape on the wire holders do not hold up;;
