Hey all. I just order some 285/75R17 Trail Grapplers for my 2020 PW. Is there any electronic device that can adjust for tire size so my speed and odometer is correct? Thanks!

I had used the Hypertech Speedo calibrator. Worked perfect. But since I now run lower pressures F 45 - R35, I bought the AEV ProCal. It does both. Some people can’t get the AEV to work with the Power Wagon though. It is hit-or-miss. I lucked out. If you would want the Hypertech, I would sell it for cheap since I no longer need it.

I just need to set the speed. Is one better then the other? Is there something the dealer can do since I'm having them install the tires?

Believe the dealer can do it for you. The AEV ProCal the cheapest way to go but the Taser Ram does a lot more for just a little extra cost. AEV has the harness on backorder so I got inpatient and went with Taser. BUT, 2020 models may not have anything out yet.

AlfaOBD is the best and cheapest option to do what you want (and a lot more). Big thread on here explaining all it can do

I was not able to get the alpha to work correctly with my 2019, it can run its tests etc. but it won’t reset the RF hub. I use a Tazer for the tire size and it works great.

With '19 and newer trucks the RF hub does not need to be reset for tire related stuff. I changed the TPMS thresholds and tire size with Alfaobd in my '19.

The first couple of time I would get an error when I entered the pin but the change would still work. The last adjustment I didn't even enter the pin and it still worked.

Eta: I also used the security module bypass from Kaodtech.

Thanks for sharing that, that’s exactly what I need to do.

Tazer Ram works perfect for me and unlocks other features if needed.

I have a Tazer on my hellcat and it's been great, but I didn't want to spend $300 just to run a slightly larger tire. My truck is staying stock other than the 34 x 11.5's.

I got lucky and the AEV Procal works perfect on my '19 PW. I actually bought it before they updated their info saying that it wouldn't work with PW's. You'll want something that also allows you to disable/modify the TPMS settings as you'll most likely be running lower pressures than what the factory system will allow you to run without the light/sounds coming on every time you start the truck.

I would use an app and see how bad its off, speedos from factory even come with margin of error. If its less then 2 or 3mph i wouldn't worry about it. I also have the tazer

I am 7mph off at 60mph with my 37s. I imagine you will be 2-4 mph off at 60mph. I am going to probably buy the tazer also, like being able to engage lockers in 4 hi and the hi idle when winching.

I'd say the cheapest option is the AlfaOBD and it has been mentioned here a couple of times. The other options may work and could be better but for price - it would be the OBD and simply change the circumference of the tire. That has worked on a lots of trucks in the forum so far.

So, it is my Power Wagon that prompted the notification on AEV's website about it not working with the Power Wagon. The first time I tried to adjust the tire size, the computer went haywire and every system and nanny went nuts. I had to take into to the dealer to reset. Also, the dealer used a new code from RAM to set the tire size for me. They didn't set the TPMS correctly which was a bummer. I did get the ProCal to set my TPMS correctly without crashing the computer. When speaking with the developer at AEV, he said it was only a few of the Power Wagons that had the issue, all 2019.

If you only need it for tpms, then maybe the ProCal, but I'd stay away for now until they update the programming.

BTW, I'm running 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Didn't your truck come with 285? Mine did.
I thought that was the starting size from Ram?

It came with 285/70R17's. I got 285/75R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers. They're about an inch taller and same width. I went with MT's because I'm building a new house on 12 acres and the mud has been pretty bad. They'll also do fine on the street for my needs. I'm rarely on the highway. Just local suburbs cruising. I'm having them installed next Tuesday. Getting Amp Research power steps installed on Thursday.
