Gents,
I installed my Bils this weekend. Super excited about the look but it lifted the front more than expected when configured for 2.1". I should have written down the before and after heights but jumped right in to the install. When measuring ground to top of wheel arch, I expected to have about half an inch of rake after the install. Im finding that the measurement to top of wheel arch is now slightly higher in the front than the rear. I'm assuming that this is within normal parameters but wanted to check with the group anyway.
Things I've checked.
1. Snap ring is set on the groove second from top of the adjustable strut
2. Bottom spring seat is in the correct orientation over the bilstein ring
3. Top and bottom spring seats are rotated so that the spring coil ends are fully seated
4. Top washer was positioned under the top plate before reassembly
Should I be concerned or am I worrying for no reason?
Second semi-unrelated topic.... after a day of driving, there is about a 1/16" gap visible on the upper ball joints where I can see between the ball joint and the flat area of the upper control arm. Again, I have no idea what they looked like before the install but now I'm paranoid that I have more lift than the ball joint can handle and I'm getting the dreaded ball joint pop.
I'll post photos tomorrow but any input you all have would be greatly appreciated.
