I bought the Bilsteins for my 2016 Outdoorsman 4x4 CC. I have read that the Outdoorsman trucks already have a . 7" over stock height. I originally was planning on setting the Bilsteins at 2. 1 but since that will only raise it 1.4" than what it is now I am considering the 2.8. Just wondering if anyone is having issues with the 2.8 setting in regular 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive? Will settle for the 1.4 if it means not having any issues or possible issues down the road.

I have mine set at 2.8 and I've had no issues. They've been on at least 20K miles. 2015 Outdoorsman CC 4x4.

The higher you go the more preload you are putting on the springs with Bilsteins which stiffens the suspension . I have been from .7,1.4 and 2.1 and really don't care that much for the 2.1 compared to .7. You feel more of the little bumps that the suspension used to absorb at softer settings. Thats the price ya pay being you are getting away cheap compared to a lift kit

All true, but there is flip side to consider as well. It also stiffens up the coils a bit and changes the cornering characteristics. Reduces the softness yes, but also tightens it up for pavement use. Combined with the improved characteristics of the Bilstein shock, it makes it much more fun to drive on asphalt. IMHO

Sways bars are for that . Compromising the suspension to much by restricting the travel for me . If I can lower the rear an inch I will go back to 1.4 and with the 3" Body lift still be tall enough for 35s and still look like a 4x4. I think these damn 10 ply short sidewall 35s on 20s may be the root of my disliking my ride as time goes on

The Outdoorsman, at least for 2017, shares the same suspension as the regular models. People often assume that they're .7" higher as the TRX was, and the Outdoorsman was the replacement for the TRX.
I measured at least a half dozen models at the dealership and compared them to my 17 Outdoorsman and the front height was the same.

I installed 5100s at 2.1 and still have some rake between front and rear. 2.8 would have make it perfectly level I believe but I find that stance weird on a truck that isn't lifted several inches.

I'm running 35x11.5R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock black wheels.

Yes I actually would prefer a slight rake. At this point I will most likely install mine at 2.1.
