I am a boomer and grandpa (x7). I did not want color matched bumpers and the midnight option requires 20” wheels. I wanted 18” wheels for off road purposes, so chrome it was. I also think the chrome looks best with the Delmonico Red paint. It works for me & I will rock it.I'm 52, but I like to be 'hip' if possible. When researching my Ram, I would've gone with any combo that had the options I want. I found that chrome is now considered a 'grandpa' or 'boomer' truck. So decided to go with night or sport. The one that had the options I wanted ended up being a sport.
Problem with the Sport is the paint matched items can get rock chips easier. Chrome was much better at taking little rocks and road debris. I would think black (night) would be better than the sport, and easier to touch up. I've only had mine for a year and have a few imperfections already.
My last truck was a 2011 F150 with chrome bumpers. I liked it and didn't know any different at the time.
