So my rear view camera is very blurry on my 16 Ram. Has been for awhile but have no idea why. I've cleaned it multiple times with no success. Anyone having the same issue? If so did the whole camera need to be replaced? (I'm assuming thats the only fix).

Got any pics of what you’re seeing?

I have had an intermittent issue. In the 2+ years I’ve had my truck I’ve have a couple times of blurry rear camera but it never persisted on mine so I haven’t paid much attention to it. I’m just wondering if you’re getting the same issue but it’s just not going away.

There are several thread s about that. If I remember right the seal is broke and the moisture fogs up the lens ! I believe the camera has to be replaced ,do not remember if it can be sealed with silicone

I had mine replaced under warranty for a blurry image due to water getting in it. Apparently its common issue with them according to my service advisor

This is what it looks like. Not the best pic but you get the jist. Water makes sense and with the cold temps we have had lately, if it froze it would've made it even worse to see.

I don't really use my camera often (old school mirrors work just fine) but now that sled season is coming, hooking up to the trailer would be easier with the camera.

I'm out of warranty, so I'll see what they'll do for me. Not holding my breath.

Any after market options out there?6288c6afbcdbfae49141e7b6a6aa7c48.jpgeecb0946e3ed937b6768e2988d3ee98f.jpg

Ok that’s different than what I experienced intermittently.
Mine was more of a digital blurriness if that makes sense. Like a software blurb.

Yours definitely look like condensation.

My '12 has a similar issue, livable, but still an annoyance of sorts.

I have an aftermarket I put in my Murano and it works just like a watching TV and the one in my '16 Terrain Denali is just as good as the aftermarket.

The best way I can explain it is that I can see what's behind me, but the picture is just a bit off focus and fuzzy.

Cleaned mine as well. Normally just a wipe with the finger and they're good to go again.

I'll see if I can remember to take a picture of it this week when we drive it again. Not our daily driver.

I replaced my camera after it started getting cloudy. After a while it had enough crud in there that it just wasn't drying out clear anymore. Takes 15 minutes to replace.

I also had a problem. mine was not blur it was more of the picture breaking up digitally. I took the cover off the inside of the tailgate . I opened the plug that is attached to the tailgate put some dielectric grease on the contacts and all has been fine ever since .

I would think a blow drier would probably tell you if it's condensation.
