I recently bought a 2016 1500 Regular cab. looking to add performance, but besides an exhaust system and a new CAI, not sure what to do next. also looking for recommendations on what mufflers would yield a deep loud growl in lower RPMs.

As for mufflers, the Borla ProXS is pretty popular for our trucks (I have a '16 Rebel)...mine sounds great with very little drone. Get one of those and Pedal Commander and you'll be set...for awhile, anyway!

Oh, and post some pics or somebody here will call you a liar!

If you want a tuner you’ll have to unlock your PCM or get an unlocked one but you’ll see a big difference with that. Clutch fan delete, intake, exhaust would be first things. I have a mufflex exhaust one mine and like the tone. With the intake a new TB, perhaps 180 thermostat. More in depth would be headers and a new Y-pipe, the factory Y is very restrictive. Good luck on your build!

Looks like a sleeper. Save your money and go with a Corsa exhaust, AFR headers and an unlocked PCM with a custom tune where all you mods can realize their full potential. If your truck has 3.21 gears I would also think about upgrading to 3.92's. A gear swap alone would make a hell of a difference all by itself.

+1 on the gear swap; my Reb has 3.92s and while they're not comparable trucks, those gears are a perfect all-around fit for my needs.

Tune, intake, full exhaust, clutch fan delete/180 t-stat to start. That alone got me to mid 12's on street tires. Then ud pulley, ported tb, cam. Stalls are just starting to become available for the 8 speeds & the results are looking very good so far.

If I was going to do an exhaust, it would be Corsa. You could Nickgotexhaust.

If you plan on doing LT headers down the road don't do the muffler, the headers will change the sound and tone for the worse. Be there done that mistake. I would do:

Tuner with custom tune
American Racing headers
Peddle Commander

Leave the CAI stock
Leave the stock muffler

Make your muffler selection after the headers, trust me. If no headers are planned then any bolt on muffler kit will be fine.
