So they have the borla S type catback on sale right now for $630.00 for the 6.4 trucks. Anyone run one? I found one youtube video of one and it sounded pretty loud. I want a smooth sound, want to lose the ugly resonator, but dont want to spend $1000.00

I tow a lot and this is my work truck. I dont want to be the redneck you can hear from 3 miles down the road but love a low rumble.

I went ahead and ordered it. I will post a video when I get it installed. If it's too loud I can install a resonator.

This is why I haven’t done anything to my exhaust. I can’t imagine being stuck in a cab with constant drone on a 6 hour tow. I’m also not willing to keep throwing money at it to make it acceptable.

Yep. I've wanted to do it for 4 years now and finally pulled the trigger. I hate how it sounds and hate the look of the stock resonator. I've been driving my dads 1500 sport and it sounds really good stock. Borla claims no drone with this kit so I guess I will see. I got it for $675 shipped so that seems cheaper than any other catback except for that mufflex system that leaves the resonator.

go to Borla's website- look up your system and then it list dealers offering "sale" pricing.

I wanted a deep growl at idle and cruise, then a pronounced howling scream when I jump on the pedal. All I added was a Borla ProXS muffler. $200 all in.

I thought about just swapping mufflers but then I would've had to add pipe and I still wanted to get rid of the *********** resonator that hangs below the rear bumper.

My buddy has a Borla ATAK catback on his truck and it absolutely screams. You can hear him going across town like a redneck haha. For sure not what the OP is looking for!

I installed it this morning. The 6.4 muffler is straight through with about 6" of perforation and has a side baffle flowing into the rest of the muffler. I was surprised to see that and expected the perforation to be the entire length of the muffler. Surprisingly it isnt too loud and there is no drone at all. My tires are actually louder in the cab than the exhaust is once I get up to highway speed.

The muffler was way bigger than I expected. It was a perfect fit and install was a breeze by myself. Getting the old exhaust out was the challenge. There is a hanger next to the spare tire and removing the tire would've been easier but I got it out with the tire in. I was surprised by how much rust was on the connection behind the muffler to the tail pipe. I had to beat it with a hammer to get it loose.

This is my first borla system. It has a more "raw" sound than my old magnaflow system on my trans am. Idle is louder but once I get going it is pretty mellow. I think towing it will be pretty loud but not obnoxious.

This is a nice system and I got it way cheaper than I could have gotten flowmaster or magnaflow. It's more than the mufflex but I got rid of the resonator and it has a full sized muffler instead of a racing style bullet.

Outlaw, curious if your 6.4 has the leafs in the back, the site doesn’t say a thing about fitting a 3500, but I am going for it anyway.
