have a 2011 1500. Reading on the forums here that bottom bolt is making me want to return them and say **** it. Is that bottom bolt always a ***** to get out? Should I just get some spacers?

You have to take the strut off even with spacers. I just did my 18. 2" rear 3" front took about 3 hrs total. Have a helping hand makes life much easier.

Your 18s struts slip out like nothing and have a locked nut on the bottom bolt. My 11 is a totally different story

He's right. That bottom bolt has to come out even with spacers. Start hitting them with penetrating oil a few days before you plan on doing the job. It may not help, but it certainty can't hurt.

Yah I’m debating just selling the truck now. Not in the mood for **** bolts like that. If I would have known I wouldn’t have bought a 2011. I also can’t find any write ups or videos on 11s. Only 08 older or 12 and newer.

Not exactly common but can happen more often i guess if you live in the salt belt.
Leveling kit or spacers, of full lift, lowering kit, factory shock replacement it doesn't matter, the strut has come out so you deal with it now since you'll be leveling the truck or later on, but It'll be the same job either way and ******** about it won't make it any more loose for you.

I mean I wouldn't sell a truck over stubborn bolts, but than again idk how bad your **** gets rusted up north. Soak them in some good penetrating oil and get a big ass breaker bar and be a man about it

Lmao well it's the truth some people have the ability to work on their cars/trucks some people flat out dont. Then there is some can but dont have the knowledge and cant ask the right questions to get it done. FYI I've never been unemployed and Its my driveway since I own the house.

Obviously you lack the skills to work on your own truck. Seeing how 90% of the guys on the forum have leveled or lifted their trucks. You technically called us all idiots but hey at least we were able to get the bolt out.

Had to cut them out of my 2011 ram. Used a sawzaw and air hammer. definitely was not going to be able to just knock them out as the rubber bushing they sit in just absorbs the hit. I replaced the bolt and bushing once out. I did mine on jack stands and was not fun at all but a little patience, hard work and help from a friend they will come out.

Clearly a troll however I work 8 to 16 hours a day 4 on 2 of and usually work over time on one of my pass days. Still manage to work on my truck keep up on my house landscaping and time with my girlfriend and her daughter. It's called manning up and stop being a snowflake princess!
