I park in my driveway facing downhill, so I have my parking brake engaged. First thing in the morning when I press on the brake to start the truck I feel a thump in the pedal. That is the only time it does it. No noises or issues when I drive or braking. But that initial startup, while I am still in park i feel the thump. I have read some forums and thumps dont appear to be a big deal but we spend alot of money on these trucks so I thought I would ask.

There has also been no impact on my fuel mileage or performance.

This forum is awesome and I appreciate any ideas what it may be.

Thank You!

Probably the rear pads engaging the rotor.
The e-brake shoes are holding the drum and the caliper pressure relaxes. I wouldn't worry.
You can test by parking uphill without using the e-brake.

I didnt think about that. Which is why it only happens in the morning because the pressure relaxes overnight or over the few days it sits in the driveway.

Thank You!

FYI I never use my E Brake and I sometime here a minor thump first start of the day!
Not sure where the noise comes from and my E Brake pads are gone from lack of use or the PO ran with e brake on too much :O
I wonder if I will still hear the minor thump after the new E Brake pads are installed
