I personally haven't used them myself. But rear rotors are pretty expensive from the local parts store ...can be $90 each (cheaper online). So $200 for a premium pr of rotors isn't a big splurge. What the heck ...$200 a pair, I'd give them a shot! Then you can always say (with *actual* experience) ..they work well or not.
Technically speaking yer reducing the square/in braking surface area due to the slots & holes. Not a lot, but some. Maybe 8%?? The counter argument is they reduce heat/off-gassing, etc and have braking advantages there. It won't make a huge difference in daily driving, but will be kind of fun. And why not have some fun!
