On Tuesday I'll be getting the brakes replaced. Got just over 66,000 on truck and pads are very thin. For those of you that have had to replace the Brakes, how many miles did you get out of yours?

On my 11 sport, at 60000 miles o needed brakes. I live in an area with lots of hills. Others have posted higher mileage before needing new brakes.

I frequently drive in traffic. Got 34K on front pads and rotors. Just changed rear pads and rotors at 70K.

I saw you mention you got Black rotors, can I ask what brand?

And to the OP, I have 35k on my truck and the brakes squeak pretty bad, haven't looked at them yet to actually see if they are worn, was going to upgrade them anyways since they suck.

Embarrassed to admit it but I was in a time crunch and had it done without asking brand.
Obviously paid way more for less by going retail, but had zero option with a trip coming up.

Do y'all do your own brake jobs?

Nobody touches my vehicles ever, unless they need programming or a flash. I’ve lost my faith in humanity, people are careless and just don’t give a **** about anything.

I usually just replace the pads at the first time. Pads and rotors after that. Typically cheap rotors warp but they are all most likely made in the same Mexican factory. The more expensive ones tend to be thicker or beefier in critical areas. I'm not sure if that applies to the Ram though as I have not done anything to my 2015 yet. I bought some Power Stop Evolution pads to be installed in the future based on recommendation from my friend who has had 2 Rams. Don't bother turning rotors, it will just make them thin and warp sooner.
