So i have installed brighter LEDs. Even installed grand cherokee lights in the kick panels, but my old eyes cant see ****.

I bought some real cheap 48 SMD panel light kits designed for car use. They cost me $2.14 for a kit of 2. They are now $1.18.

I originally just sanded the sides to fit and left it dangling behind the clear panel in the overhead. Great lighting almost blinding. Well after six months the LEDs burned out due to lack of a heat sink.

I recently bought some heat sinks for my 3D printer and had extra. So I cut and ground to fit another.
In the pics i tried to have a fixed exposure to compare a 194 LED vs the panel LED.

The kit comes with plug and play harnesses. Makes it easy to swap out new ones but i lost the connectors to another project. So i added silicone insulate wires

The panel kinda just flops around, but its not noticeable. Hopefully this last longer than 6 months, but just in case, i have 5 more kuts on order.

Love it, the pictures look ridiculously bright. I'm guessing it looks like an alien abduction in person!

I use the same 48 led panels. Installed 5 ohm 2 watt metal oxide resistor. Not much dimmer but a whole lot cooler!
