Hey Guys,

I noticed that this winter put a couple of chips in the hood of my 1500 Night edition. This is the white variant with the performance hood. In the past, I have put the AVG Bug Deflector II on my trucks, but since this truck has the performance hood, I don't want it to look gaudy or anything like that. What are some recommendations of deflectors to put one these trucks specifically with the hood.

Thanks
Chris

You could use some clear vinyl paint protection film to protect your hood. That wouldn’t mess with the lines of the hood and look better than a bug deflector.

Not a half bad idea for now. Not sure its going to last long. I have some xpel on my corvette and it looks horrific. It's yellowing after 6 months. I was thinking of the flush mount weather tech one actually cause it matches the lines of the hood. I had seen some from EGR, but wasn't sure how big that would look. Maybe just touch this thing up and drop on a skin tight one. Since the truck has a ton of black, maybe I can have some wrap work done on the hood to tie in the guard.

If you get the 3m stuff that is professionally installed, it should look good for a long time.

I had my white Express 2 weeks and found chips on the front bumper. I had 3M PPF Pro installed and it's been on there since July and you can't even see where it is. I had them do the front edges of the hood, fenders, complete bumper and grllle. It comes with a 10 year, 3M warranty against cracking, yellowing, blistering or peeling. You can pay an extra 10% of the total price for insurance if it gets damaged and you need paint work.

I bought some extra on ebay and did some lower areas myself for cheap but you don't get the warranty.
