Bulb capping is generally used in the fog lights to help reduce glare. Take a look at your stock bulbs - the end has a coating or covering on them to help disperse light back into the reflector bowls. Headlights typically have a metal cover that hangs in front of the bulb for this reason (directs the light back to the reflectors). In the fogs, when a HID bulb is used, there is no cap, cover, coating, etc on the bulb - so......light just tends to shine wherever the heck it wants to. :D This helps direct that light back to the reflectors - and helps to reduce glare.

Glad you recommended this for me. Can't wait to get them out in the Ocala Forest and light up the critters. I'll try to get a picture of some 'red eyes' (gators) for ya.

Man, I don't travel. LOL I just sit in my shack and play with headlights.

(but I'll try to remember!!)

I have only found one place that had gator and it was cooked "right" (for me). Most deep fry it.......ick. Grilled tail is where its at.
