I'm looking at changing things up a bit with my 2017 White Big Horn. It came with chrome. I do want to keep some, but the chrome bumpers are too much in my opinion. The tips were Linex black, and I'm thinking about doing the same to the grill. The badges are all chrome, and the wheels I have are black with chrome accents. Should I bull bar or cattle guard the front vice changing the front bumper and then leave the back chrome?
Thanks for your feedback.

Bull bar or full guard is a classic look that doesn't die IMO. a lot of the full front bumpers can cheapin up the aggressive look. But they do add protection above the factory bumpers.

Rather than ask the collective which is highly opinionated. I would google search different options and find what you like.

It's also worth noting that you shouldn't listen to me because based on the amount of times I read it on the forums I must be the only guy alive who likes the chrome bumpers and a truck with all appropriate badging. Lol

I don’t like the chrome either, mine is an SLT that’s essentially a BigHorn.

I’d just get OEM painted to match bumpers/door handles/etc. That’s my personal opinion though and what id do.

Thanks everyone. Only reason I'm looking at new bumpers is because the price for tow hooks for our trucks is expensive. Another $100 I can get a new bumper with shackles. 047DOGE just tried to catfish me with hooks they have for sale. Only has 4 posts, no introduction post, and asked for a snapshot of my paypal payment. Feels way to suspect to me, and I just told him/her so. Hard pass. LOL

Let a MOD know the screen name so they can block them. Have you check FB for hooks? Idk where you are looking but you can get hooks under $100 not sure where you getting a bumper any where close to that.

If only the bumper was slightly thicker! But I like the metal bumper IMO. More useful if you hit something than painted plastic.

Don't linex the bumper, it will crack and peel.

I'm guessing the same for the grill?

That I am not sure. There was a post recently about a guy doing his front bumper and when the temperature changes drastically enough the bumper will shrink or expand and crack.

You could use plasti dip and I know people harp on it but when it starts to look like crap you peel it off and redo it or leave it. A lot less work than if you paint it.

eljefe, I really like the looks of the bumper you posted a picture of. Looks clean, and appears to fit well. What brand is it ?
Thanks

You can paint chrome if just has to be done right. It's all on the prep work. If it is prepped correctly it's the same as doing to sheet metal. Most shops won't do it because the prep is very time consuming.

My local Linex said they do both sides of the grill to keep it from peeling. Had a lot of success doing it so far. Dropped mine off to get done.

A little late to the party. I had the bighorn chrome bumpers originally. I put a hammerhead bumper on a few years ago, and just recently lined my rear bumper. If it doesn't hold up, I'll pull the trigger on a matching rear. For the time being I think it looks better than the chrome.
