I have had my truck back to the dealership, to another Dodge dealership, to a suspension specialist and still have the problem!
The first 2 months after purchasing the brand new Ram 2500 the truck began riding extremely rough!
No one can fix the problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not sure if you realized that you posted this in the 2019 1500 section. I don't know how many of the 2500 folks check this section.

Extremely rough is subjective. It is a 3/4 ton truck after all.

Have you checked the tire pressure? Many techs like to put the tires at or near max psi.

What is going on now that wasn't before?

pretty much this.... its a 3/4 ton, so a bumpy ride is expected, that being said my dads bran new truck was delivered to him with all 4 tires at 100psi and completely out of balance, so his truck didnt ride all that great, check your tire pressure and get them to balance your wheels, my dad went down to 60psi and it was much smoother of a ride...

Oh and moved this thread to the right section as well

Just taking that "rough" riding thing a little further on tires etc. I recently went to different tires, same size 35s..........For the first 34K miles I ran 70-72psi front and 80ish rear while towing mostly. I took a 580 mile trip a couple weeks ago empty and had my fronts at like mid to upper 70s (my fault).....holy crap I hated every bump......thought I would need new kidneys by the time I got back.

Lowered the fronts to low 70s and what a difference a few psi made......felt like I had Flintstone wheels before....now if feels normal

What did vehicle did you just come out of? I’ve been in some rough trucks in my life. I’d say the Ram is firm not rough. But it a lot different than any 1/2 truck if that’s what you came out of. As said. Tire psi will make a pretty big difference.

Same with my 2018 2500 CC. Tire pressure in those heavy rubber Firestone tires was 100 PSI. Big difference (when not towing) with the PSI at 60.

Door Jamb is 65 Front and 80 Rear on mine....still doesn't explain why I was running mid to upper 70s up front.......in reality I was at 65psi my wife said it felt squirrely and twitchy when towing the horse so I thought I would run what I used to.....nope, just needed an alignment.

After I drove that 580miles of highway and felt the handling I knew I had either too much toe out or not enough caster.......it was the toe out..... so now I am running low 70s front and it is comfortable.

We shall see.....head out on a 800 mile trip camping tomorrow with the TT.....and gear

yup his door said something like 80 psi or something, we looked up when the TPMS light would come on and lowered the air pressure down to 60 front and rear on my dads truck, it was an indescribable difference

Mine must have the 80 too. I know it was 8-something. Obviously this is supposed to be the PSI when there is weight in the truck. I forget what the stock “inflate your tires” warning threshold was. If you run 80+ on those stock tires the centers will be bald in no time. Especially in the back.

Seem to be all over the map. Mine is a 2014 so relatively early in the redesign and with the 6.4. Door shows 65psi front and 80psi rear. But I am also a Longhorn rolling on stock 20s not stock 18s......of course they now have 35" rubber on them but hey whatever

Seems like PSI has been discussed in a lot of threads. 60/80 psi daily driving empty or near empty is pretty brutal and jarring. Some get used to it.

I was running mine at 55/50 empty and tires feel firm but not jarring and don't have that floaty feeling. That's been true for my 295/65r20 & now 37x12.50r20 Nitto Trail Grapplers.

I went in for an oil change recently and they aired my tires up to 65/65 (max psi on my 37s is 65psi). I just lowered them today to 55/55 cold. When I drive they go up to about 60~61. When I tow my travel trailer, they get up to 63~64 in the rear. Sounds like a lot of heat build up, but in South Texas right now, Tmeps have been in the 100's for about a week now.

Good luck OP. If you figure out what it was and how it got fixed, post here in case someone else comes across the same issue.

Rides very rough. I purchased as a pick up and had conversion to flat bed done.
Thought maybe it was a weight difference between the regular PU Bed vs. Flat Bed.
Dealer says it's HD and will be rough.
I purchased a 2018 2500 HD, Crew Cab, 6.4 and did the same conversion. This truck rides much smoother then the 2016 Regular cab. Was thinking maybe the additional weight and wheel base of the 2018 might have something to do with the ride.
I will look at tire pressure on the 2016 Regular cab and try reducing it. I set it at the recommended pressure on the door.

Just bought a 2013 Ram PW. Super rough, bumpy, shaky ride. Balanced and rotated the tires, no help. Did the air pressure thing, no help. Had Big’O run a “road force” tire balance. 3 tires failed. Cheap Walmart “Amp” tires. Got new tires. Ride smooth as a baby’s butt.
