Recently had a CV joint and wheel bearing replaced and ever since I've had a real bumpy ride that starts in the upper 50mph range and gets worse as speed increases. Mechanic rotated my tires as well. It's a very consistent, rotational bumping but there's no feedback in the steering wheel at all. Any thoughts as to what it could be?

What was wrong with the CV originally? Driver or passenger side? Did he swap intermediate axle as well?

I just knew the bearing was out and he said the CV was too. Not unexpected, it was the original CV at 105,000 miles. And passenger side. I don't think he swapped an intermediate axle.

there is a possibility that you have a bubble on the back side of one of your tires

Maybe a weight fell off the tire during the cv replacement or just fell off so get your tires balanced.

If it started simultaneously with the repair I’d start with what was done. What kind of parts were installed; OEM or questionable chinese stuff from discount stores?

Next a visit to a good tire store for checking balance and true on tires.

Jack up that side and start wiggling and spinning things and see if anything looks off. But my first stop would be back to the shop that worked on it and have them inspect it.

Yeah I'll give him a call. I would think that any issues with the new parts or wheels/tires would be felt in the steering wheel, no? It's totally smooth while the rest of the cab bumps around.
