Burnt a/c smell

My a/c has a burnt electrical smell coming from the vents. It’s not the fan and resister module it’s not the headlight switch. When I removed the fan and looked around with a mirror I saw the evaporator core was wet possibly with oil I reached in and felt around the wet core and my fingers smelt burnt. Could a/c oil smell like burnt electrical?
