I bought some of these for my 1500 and paid $375 for the set. I was looking at a set for my 2500, and they're $502!!! Just to make sure, I priced a set for my old truck (2011 Ram 1500), and they're $502 now, too. What the heck?? They look the same, why the drastic increase?

ETA: I bought the other set about a year ago, so it hasn't been too terribly long.

Bushwacker has become the brand name in flares so they can charge more for their name, just like RBP and the like.

Jebus. Yeah I'd buy a set myself if they didn't cost 500++ They're still some of the best looking ones too, which sucks.

I can tell you the more inexpensive prestige pocket flares are no where near the same quality

Yup. Gotta pay for the name!

Luckily for me, I don't like the look.

I ended up going with Smitty M1 pocket flares. For $350 with shipping it was cheaper and the don't stick out as far which was good since my wheels are a 20x9 -12 offset. Finished painted them at work Friday and finally put all those stupid nuto on and the weather strip. Tomorrow a wash and install. Quality looks good and they were a lot cheaper. I even got a free trail Axe, not sure what I need it for but it was free so I am not complaining.

Just a rubber strip that tapes to the flare to keep the plastic from touching the truck. It does take some time to put the little nuts and rubber strip on. Not hard but time consuming. Just uses existing bolts in the wheel well to mount to the truck.
As far as painting it takes time but I wouldn't say its hard. If anyone wants I can do a step by step and I can switch it up to ratyke cans for you. I paint cats at work so I have all the toners to mix paint, compressor, and a gun. You can do it with rattle cans and get a good finish it just takes a little longer.

My Smitty m1's say 1.5" and look about that. Bushwhacker are 2.5" if I remember right. Get a flat board like a 2x4 or something and a tape measure and see about how far your wheels come out and then you'll have a idea on what flare fits your set up. That's how I decided.

I had 35x12.50's on my 1500, and the Bushwackers made them look small!

I have 37x13.50's on this truck, and the truck itself is "beefier", so I think the 2.5" will be just right. I also love on a dirt road and this will help keep some of the mud and dirt off the side of my truck.

I want to believe there are cheaper options just as good, but I am a firm believer of "buy once, cry once". Seems like everytime I try to save a dollar, it ends up costing me twice as much. Decisions, decisions.

I lucked and got my Bushwackers for $150 shipped! There not pocket flares, that's not what I wanted anyway. Mine are the OEM style flares.
