Hey all,

Well I have had my headers sitting on my basement since June. Over my spring break I figured I would have time to put them on. Well I been putting them off because of how rusty my manifolds are and if anyone has tried changing a manifold on a 2500 you know how little room there is to work under the truck.

Well my manifolds are so shot that its flaking and I could even get bolt extractor sockets on the bolts.

Well this just gave me an excuse to find some used heads for my truck haha.

I bought one head so far it is for the right side, I paid $140 for it complete with the springs and rockers.

My plan is to find another one cheap and have it ported and polished and swap them out and eventually sell the heads that I have now.

Furthermore I will go ahead and put heavier springs in there because while I am replacing the heads I will do a cam swap as well with a 260 cam most likely. Hopefully I will have a new TC and valve body in the tranny before.

Anyone ever get the heads ported and knows around how much I can expect to pay? I was guessing around the $700 range?

Any other suggestions or things I should know? This wont be complete anytime soon. I graduate in may and hopefully will find a job and throw money into the truck asap.
Also if anyone has extra heads or knows someone who is selling them let me know
Again any suggestions or heads up tips let me know!
