Thats the first 4th gen I've seen like that. I know the 3rd gens were notorious for rust but wow, 6 years old with holes??

Unfortunately by the time it gets like that the only thing you can do is cut out the rust and put new metal in as John123 said.

I know you used to be able to order body panels and cab corners from Napa but that was 10 years ago.

Yeah I'm just as surprised. Any idea what the factory rust warranty is?

I think it's 5 years/100000 miles so you're just out of it. Man that sucks because you know that didn't just happen in the last year...

As far as preventing that from getting worse, I would get under there with a hose and rinse the everliving **** out of the frame, rockers, bed supports, etc. There should be plugs on the back side of the rockers you can pop out and get the sprayer/hose up in there. I did this with my truck and its only been through one winter here in MA and you would not believe the amount of sand/salt that came out of my rockers and frame.

Then coat with fluid film or better yet, POR 15.

Yeah I'm going to do that as well. But first I need to find replacement cab corners and rockers.

Yeah I know of lmc truck. But can't find corners and rockers in the catalog guess I'm just going to have to email them

And got a response back already. They don't have them. Umm this could be interesting.

I really don't want to have to make them. Or engineer something.

Anyone know if they make some rock rails for these trucks?

I will admit I have not washed it like I should but I live in Pittsburgh. The passenger side is not that bad. I don't understand. Lol

I did a Google search for 09+ cab corners and didn't find much. You would think these would be easier to find seeing as just about every truck out there rots out in the cab corners eventually

Looks like salty water got inside the rocker sill area cavatities and couldnt get out, accumulated and rusted from inside to out.

Im thinking perhaps having those caps removed might have slowed down the process.

Time to cut out and reweld, or do what the rednecks do in my hood. cover it up with some diamond plated stainless steel and rivits.

not to revive a old post, but is it 09s that just have this issue?

Probably not. As the truck ages you will continue to see it. Getting my bed sides done this summer
