Purchased my new truck just under two weeks ago. Noticed the attached today while opening the back quad cab driver side door.

The paint is torn and the panel appears to have been pushed from the inside out. As its raised. I very much doubt I'd be taking it back for this as I can't stand the headache associated with this crap, just wondering maybe what the may have occured. I'll probably be removing the flaked paint and touching it up some time in the future.uploadfromtaptalk1438030632088.jpguploadfromtaptalk1438030632088.jpg

Weird. The pics are hard to tell the directionality of the dent/flaw. Wondering if the seatbelt got a slammed in the door and somehow made the indents and chip.

Damm that sucks. It's one of those, is it worth taking it in or just deal with it. That lil chip will definitely grow over time though.

Don't try and just put some touch up paint on there. Take it to your dealer and have them get it fixed.

In an ideal world I would agree. However, I can just imagine getting the vehicle back with overspray all over other places etc etc. I think I will repair it myself.

I already bought some por15 for the rusty pinch welds, so I will be do this also. I think the only reason I may have to be going to dealer is for the front passanger door window weather strip which is pinched under glass and damaged. Part is over $90 else I would have done it myself.

Find a dealer near you that has a certified dodge autobody on it... they will know how to handle this and do a better job than any other type of dealer that sends it to a 3rd party shop...

I wouldn't attempt to fix it yourself the paint needs to be sanded down in the spot, spot primed and spot painted... or it will keep lifting and eventually travel to the visible portion of the body...

I went to Collision | Mopar and found a few places near me. But they were not dealerships but collision refinishing stores. My question is, do I still need to get it validated at a main dealer then go to the chosen certified bodyshop or does one just go to the bodyshop directly for warranty work?

I would think for warranty repair work it would have to go through a certified Ram dealer. Then to the body shop. I think the other works like insurance would.
