It's been snowy and temps have ranged from -12*f to 18*f this week. I have been getting a slight knocking noise in the rear of the cab in my Regular cab ram. I thought it was my ice scraper bouncing around in the cargo tray, wasn't it. I looked for ice built up between the cab and bed, it was clean and clear. I got under the truck with a flash and started inspecting. I noticed some rust streaks coming down the back of the cab. The rust steaks and the noise I was hearing was the piece of plastic/rubber strip running the width of the cab/bed. It had rubbed through the paint and when I moved it it with my hand it would make the same knocking sound I heard in the cab. I ended up taking it off tonight. When the weather warms up next week into the 40s I'm going to clean up the bare metal, prime, and spray some 3m undercoat for protection. To me this piece of plastic weather strip is a bad design on mopars part.
