Cabin pressure vents leaking for sure. Over a year driving the truck with a smell, hard to breath, windows fogging and never thought my 2016 Ram 1500 had water leaking from the rear plastic lose factory installed vents. In addition to the health concerns once I noticed my carpets were wet and traced the leak to the rear vents, (thanks to this forum) I uncovered corroded wiring harness connectors, rusty seat tracks and mold all on the edge of the carpet front and back. Needless to say disappointing. Ram knows there’s an issue and even revised the vents with a newer version. This 100% needs to be a recall! Health and safety checks both boxes. The truck was difficult to drive on rainy days due to the windows fogging especially at night, electric harness and connectors corrosion and MOLD throughout the truck. Where’s the recall RAM??

Same issue, my 2016 Ram Limited
is mint and I recently started to smell the dampness. Read this post and bought 2 of the pressure vents noted above. Wet under both rear seats, when I pulled the sub, it was soaked. I removed and cleaned and dried the entire rear panel and material under the seats. All the padding was saturated. Upon water test to confirm the vents leaking showed water coming in on both vents. Removed them both from the inside by unclipping and pulling them in at an angle back into the truck. The NEW ONES have to be sent up in between the cab and the bed ( they will fit no matter what anyone says). Align and pull into place and make sure they clip in properly. The pictures are after I cleaned the hell out of it, but you can see the water run stains and the water pooling on top of the vent.2713695735b78eac5fd4ade04b1b3c9c.jpg761a3c7fe864782e7de5598c0e65387e.jpg2acb0b0433f349b2a9aa50a405fb1e9d.jpg3015ca83a07517c129ca9c223ed94a84.jpg9d35bb24013f5a2d0ccf1d90d4fd4d50.jpg

Same here!

2016 RAM 1500 Limited.
Vents were leaking water! Rear of the cab was soaked

I siliconed everything around the vents. No leak now.
I did not know at that time that there were new types of vents.

Mine also is a 2016. The originals were just flopping loose in the openings. All mildew on the gasket from being constantly wet. The new design has a much smaller gasket and they made the lowest level vent plastic basically a scoop to catch and channel any water back outside if any were to come down the back of the vent. $16 out the door for both. My third Ram and my third leaker.....unreal. if it continues its gone. Going to try a F word. Lol

I couldn't do that for what ever reason. I started indenting the edges and didnt want to push my luck and damage them causing them not to seal at all or crack trying to force them. If they didnt fit up in-between, I was unbolting the bed and moving it back.

Is this just a crew cab problem? or are quad cabs having it also?

That's a crew cab, but all models are going to have the same vent on the back of the cab. Some leak some never. Its a crap shoot

1 1/2 years of leaking and i never thought to use a hose to trace it. Thank you to the people who revive random old posts. My 3bl is done, window seal is done yet still getting flooded... i had no idea about these vents

And here two other possible leak sources....[emoji112]

After I fixed the sunroof, the 3rd light, the cabin vents etc.....I still had many water droplets on the inside on my windshield after a day of rain and sunny again...

I discovered on my 2016 that:

- the 2 draining holes (left and right) in the front of the windshield were clogged. They are actually tiny hole and they of course get clogged easily

- the plastic trim in front of the windshield was not tight to the windshield anymore

And therefore I could observe how much water was retained in this area and then moved between the plastic and the windshield.

I have now just siliconed the gap between the plastic piece and the windshield and I have unclogged both draining holes and no more problem in my front windshield now.

Oh my goodness I'm thankful for this forum. I've been chasing a rear passenger water leak for about a month now. I've fixed my brake light issue on my own and never thought the vent could be the problem. Just ordered two new ones today!

I finally pulled out my rear seat to find my leak and it's not surprising that it's been leaking so badly. Most of the flaps on the vents are missing.

Its rediculous that these are so cheaply made, total garbage. The scary part is the new updated ones seam to be made even cheaper! But still no leak so they may of fixed it...chaeply lol

I did mine last weekend. The passenger side vent had zero flaps. The updated vents do not appear to cheaper than the original, but time will tell.
I think they did, the perimeter seal is smaller and the flap material seams thinner, that maybe me but the main redesign is the bottom vent where they curved rhe plastic to redirect any water back out as of they know it's a possibility of it happening again to me. These types of vents have been around forever and never been an issue until todays CHEAP manufacturing to save a penny.

Yep, the factory produces what the finance and controlling say, not what engineers say anymore...

Really annoying to have such problems nowdays
