Cableguy's audio upgrades.....

This will be a slow process but heres what I have so far... I got on Crutchfield one day and was looking at what fit my truck and this is what I ended up with. The 6.5's had over 300 reviews with an average of 4.5 stars so I figured they were going to be ok. I wasn't sure the PAC was right but it works, just be careful if you go that route. I bent one pin and had no front left side at all and the end that goes into to HU wouldn't come out. It was bent were the factory plug goes into the PAC. I didn't take pic's of the actual install but there's a DYI on here for door speakers that covers it and the PAC is plug and play. Read on here to use the front rca's for the amp due to the stock HU limiting the bass on the rear output. Door speakers added a lot of vocals in the dash, more that stock. I plan on getting an Atrend box and probably a Hifonics ZXR 1200.1 amp. Hope it sounds ok when i'm done.

Awesome!! I'm slowly noticing how poor the sound quality is in my Ram. Eventually I'll be upgrading too.

LMAO!!!! I know the feeling. Had to have some of my stuff shipped to my dad's house so the girlfriend would quit seeing all the packages showing up.

Yeah I'm gonna regret getting the atrend box or equivilant cheap box but after an almost divorce on my initial order this has turned into budget central... I may pack a little poly fill in it. I'm not looking for major booming bass just a little kick in rear is all. And the kids will bounce a little too

I've only got one, in a .66 cuft box, (I think the sub calls for .65cft sealed box), and I'm running a GM3500T Pioneer amp, which is a lower end amp, rated for 400 watts max. So, probably 250-300 watts. For what it is, it sounds really good with little to no distortion at high volume... but I'd like to add a second sub in a ported Foxbox and a bigger amp, I like it loud

Please do not buy an Atrend box....you will be literally throwing your money away on a very poorly made box

ran the remote wire and rca's today to the drivers seat... had to unbolt the center console to get them under the carpet. Made it a lot easier.. There's a piece under the cup holder in the front that pops out pretty easy too. Now I need to save up for the amp and box

Should be getting an Alpine PDX 1.600 mono from a friend in a few day to power the subs. 600 x1 at 2 ohms. Should be enough power to rock them. Now to get a box....

What's wrong with Atrend boxes (not to hijack)..? Just curious, i've never seen one.

some have said they are not sealed well.... Not really sure but I haven't ruled one out. May also go with a Q Bomb box from Q Power

From what I noticed when installing subs in them is they don't have a line of sealant on the seams like some other manufactures do. For the money you can buy one and seal it yourself but if you aren't into that spend a little more and get a custom built box specifically made for your subs.

Got the alpine 600w mono amp. Sound Off Audio box too. It fits under the seat a heck of a lot better than the box a local shop had. Will have some pics soon. Hope to have it thumping by Monday

got from a friend for 100$... think it gets 300x2 at 2ohm. got a 4g kit from G_Altima on here. put 6 washers under each seat bolt. the seat laid fine I just wanted to raise it a tad. 6 washers =1/2" i'll have a pic with subs in box sunday

you got it for a good price. the reason why i like those is because you can stack a few of them instead of having them all over the place.

very impressed with this box. Had 1 shop show me what I thought may be an Atrend box for the same money as this one. had another shop quote me an Attrend box for 225. Sound Off Audio box 125$ shipped. I know the Fox Box is well liked here but I need the cup holders for the kiddos. Hopefully will have it hooked up tomorrow.
