I dropped a good amount of money on MGP covers. Took them to a shop to get them installed and they said all 4 were scraping and making noise.

Do I have the wrong size or is it something else with the caliper itself?

I'm not sure I'll be able to return them so if anyone is looking for 4 black and gold ram logo covers, they're on the market.

Bums me out they won't fit.

Not sure what year ram you have I have a 2016 have had them on for 4 years and just changed my brakes had to pull cover and reinstall them. There held on by two clips that fit between the caliper and rotor if they make noise there touching the rotors. You should be able to bend or trim the clips a little to keep them from touching the rotors. You don't need anyone to install them. I put mine on with out even taking off the wheels from the backside. I would try again. Love mine hope this helps. But they do not work on a 17" wheel . Mine are 20's

I bought the cheap ones off of amazon ($56) They are very close and you have to adjust carefully. Put something in between them and your rotors when you tighten them, I use a feeler gauge. Might take a couple times. I've only heard them barely touch one time while riding on The Blue Ridge Parkway and driving a little sporty but they quit when they cooled off. Happy with them overall.

Ahh I wonder if that’s the issue. I think the stock wheel is 17”. I have a 2018 1500 sport.

You can put them on without removing the wheel? Did not know that was possible. How were you able to do that?

I just installed MGP covers on my Challenger. The instructions specifically state to check the clearance between the clips and rotor with a feeler gauge (a piece of cardboard they supply). The covers are firmly mounted with plenty of clearance to all moving parts. Once the clips are snapped in place they sort of rotate away from the rotor. Maybe they bent the clips to try to. Put them on easier. The installation is very simple but people have messed up simpler things.

I’ve had these for several years now and they do not make noise if properly installed . sounds like they may need a slight adjustment.

I looked at the sticker info for my truck and it says 20inch wheels so I'm thinking my shop guy didn't put them on correctly.

Bringing this thread forward! I just put Dorman caliper covers on my 2017 with 20" wheels last nigh and the rears scrape like crazy. I am pretty competent mechanically but I could not keep them from scraping. I tried bending the clips and even loosening the caliper brackets and wedging them away from the rotors while I retightened them to get the tiny bit of clearance that may be in the bolt holes. I really like the looks of them and don't want to take them off. I've hear people say they 'adjusted' the clips so they would not scrape. If one of you reads this please elaborate. I am thinking I need to remove the caliper brackets grind them a bit where they are near the rotors and ptu them back on. This is way more work than I want to do!
