But I just fking found out my wheels are skins! Granted they are 20s... But **** sake.... How hard are they to remove? Can I put it back on once I the cover off?

I feel ashamed that I have such a nice truck with HUBCAPS

Exactly why I was so picky when I bought my big horn. It had the true 20" alloy wheels that the sport has. Pretty sure they call your hubcaps "clads".

They are “clad” wheels, it’s a cover that’s pretty much built into the wheel, you can remove them and have your wheels powder coated. But I don’t think you can take them off and then decide to put them back on.

It's actually more common than you would think. Lincoln, Cadillac, they all do it and unless you know, you can't tell. I wouldn't feel one bit ashamed. Look at the bright side, you curb a wheel and that's far cheaper than replacing a wheel.

When I learned that Laramie models have hubcaps it was a deal killer, but a good one as the Longhorn is such an upgrade.

Here is a video of the removal of the chrome clad

Anyone have a photo of what the wheels look like underneath?

Tons of new vehicles have chrome clad wheels, they aren't hubcaps as they aren't meant to come off. If you take off the cladding then the center cap won't snap into place and looks like you lost them. The chrome clad finish will take a heck of a beating and still clean like new.

Can anyone recommend a good black wheel skin? The guy in that video said that the ones he got didn't have the clips and stuff.

That sucks!!! I've had a couple of sets and man they were bulletproof compared to the old school chrome wheels back in the day. Aftermarket custom deep dish wheels is your only solution.... idiot!!!! Hahaha, just had to throw that in since your title said it.

Lol. I've debated on upgrading... But damn I'd have to give my left nut to convince the wife..
