The black piece sitting on top of the engine behind the connector, why does it look wet around the edges both above and below where it sits? Yet when I take a qtip to it its dry and just has crud around it? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Not sure where on the engine that is at but is it a spot that might get splashed driving through puddles & it's just road dirt that got wet & dried there?

Clean it off & keep an eye on it to see if it returns.

Its on top, on the back right side of the engine. Couldnt tell if it came from rain and debris from the hood or from underneath. Thank you for your help.

Not that I can see, but now that I look at it, it really may be debris coming off of the area behind the wipers and making its way down. I just couldnt tell how anything could coat that area.
