I've got a 2015 ram 1500 5.7 and I've noticed that the -/+ gear buttons on the steering wheel are not working does any one have any suggestions?

How are all the other steering wheel controls working?

The fault could be the clock spring or the clock spring interface connections under the horn cover.

Use the search utility in the upper-right corner to search clock spring testing or troubleshooting and clock spring replacement.

There are many threads with pictures discussing how to troubleshoot this fault.

Also, searching these tropics on YouTube will find lots of videos.

And, welcome to Ram Forum.

When you say “Not working” what exactly indicates that? If you start the truck and drive off, and press the -gear button do you see a gear number displayed in the driver side console? If you see a gear number, like 4, will the truck shift into 5th-8th as you keep accelerating? Or do you not see a gear number displayed after pressing the - button, and find no upper gears are locked out?

Best,

I think tow/haul also disables MDS, but I generally leave it on unless I'm cruising at 20mph. At 20, it sounds like a lugging 4 cylinder

You might have a problem there.
I use tow/haul all the time undre 20 even under 10 and no issues.

I recently did a muffler delete on my '15 SLT single exhaust. Left the resonator. Was super easy to do, got a 36" long 3" dia. stainless pipe and 2 pcs. of 3"dia x 2" wide exhaust clamps. Cut about 2" off the 36" long pipe.

Took my Hemi from quiet, almost no rumble, to sounding like a Hemi should. If I romp on it, I get the Hemi "fart" on the 1st shift. Tow/Haul mode it's not as noticeable, though.

Very happy with the new sound, overall.

With the muffler on, I never noticed the MDS, except for that little hesitation when giving it gas.

With the delete, at those slow speeds, I hear the weird 4 cylinder warble. Hardly at all at cruising speeds. Tow haul or setting to 6 or 8 fixes that.
