I tried servicing my rear brakes but I just couldn't get the rear rotor removed. It's a 2021 ram classic. It doesn't have EPB but does autopark. I tried adjusting the star all the way up and down on the driver's side, pounding the crap out of it, and letting WD penetrating soak in. There's zero movement from the rotor and the hub doesn't spin much at all. I normally dont put a car in neutral when I do brakes but this is the first time working on this truck's brakes.

If you have access to oxy acetylene torches, apply heat, plenty of heat to the area between the wheel studs, keep working around between the wheel studs, it will eventually loosen.

That was what I was thinking of doing but all I have is MAP. Would that work?

MAP is pretty hot, and it 'might' work. I'd be careful not to keep the heat on it for a long time, to avoid overheating other parts. Also use a BFH............. gently, haha

Oxy/acet is better, cause you can heat that area around the hub quickly, and hotter.

Although I DO NOT recommend it, I've seen people "leak" a bit of Acetylene in through the brake adjuster hole, wait for 30 seconds or so and then pass the lit torch past the hole. Don't be standing in the path of the brake drum. Generally that trick is done by the same folk that spray Ether into a big tire to help in the seating process!

2015 RAM 1500 Laramie 112,--- miles... I know i'm a day late and a dollar short" however I just replaced my Ebrakes rotors and brake pads, my problem was my cable was hanging down and the lever that the cable attached to in brake backing plate wouldn't release. What I had to do was get the BFH and a punch and beat the lever back so cable could release and that freed up rotor the e brake pads were no longer on shoes all rust and the lever was seized, I had bought the kit with all replacement parts so now have e brakes. The dealer wants $1,100. but I did it for less than $300. for all parts. There are a couple of very informative videos on how for DIY ...

"WD" 40.... Water Displacer, 40th formula.... IS NOT A PENETRANT!
Try PB blaster, or mix Type "F" trans fluid 50/50 with acetone in a squirt can and enjoy the miracle!
