Not sure the CAI do much more than look cool, not certain I want the xtra sound, got too many tickets! ...but probably. I guess the one that sits on top is most popular?

What are you getting from the CAI? ...other than looks cool. I read some people conplaining about making it seal correctly but I did not research it. Makes me want to get one and paint the valve covers too. Probably not orange though, I could see installing the CAI and and then some billet accesories.

there is a definite increase in power. the Vararam seals perfectly with the hood, which means the air its grabbing is directly from the front grill and not from the hot engine bay.

I dunno what does it one way or the other, but I empty mine every 1000 miles or so (500 miles sometimes when I drive to and from S. Tx) and sometimes it has maybe a 1/4"-1/2" in it, and sometimes it has 1 1/2" in it. So I am assuming my driving style within that 1000 miles plays a huge part on that. Who knows? Temps may do it, Humidity may do it, who knows. But if I were you I would start off checking it often, then you can always slow down on the frequency at which you check it if you don't find much each time. I have waited more than 1000 miles, maybe 1500 or more one time and it was......3/4 full!!!!! It may have been 2000 or more miles I don't know.

I installed a catch can on my wife's 2013 Grand Cherokee without only 500 miles on it. We took it easy for the first 3000 miles, but I still dumped about 3oz of oil out it the other day. The trucks are pumping out a bit more oil than the cars and Jeeps though. I usually tell everyone to check it at 1000k miles to get a feel for how much oil their specific truck is pumping out. Then you can adjust the drain periods accordingly.

Has anyone installed a Vararam on top of the engin cover?

Has anyone installed a Vararam on top of the engin cover?

Yes. The Engine cover will still fit with the Vararam. Easiest way to do this is to mount the red coupler to the throttle body and tighten down the lower hose clamp. Then install the engine cover. Then drop the airbox in place and tighten down the upper hose clamp. It is a little tight getting your hands in there, but it is definitely possible.
