i have the column shifter. im gonna get a toolbox to mount the antenna to just can't figure out where to mount it without interfering with anthing.

mind if i ask how that CB radio is? ive been playing on the idea of getting a CB.

i love it i have it in my ranger right now and ive never had any problems with it besides the mic being messed up first time i used it.

Column shifter will give you room to mount it down by the floor. Pretty sure there was a thread recently about this.

Use the bracket that came with the radio. Get a piece of sheet metal and bend the last 1-2" of it to a 90 degree angle. Drill a hole on the side of where it's bent. Remove the left bolt holding the center seat in. Bolt the plate in and mount the cb bracket to that.

Mine is a 3rd gen but I think you could do the same thing if you had floor space.

I have since painted the brackets black. Makes a big difference in how it looks.

I have a Cobra 29wx ltd nightwatch.

Good radio. Got it mounted on the trans hump. Got the antenna mounted on the back bumper.

I've seen most people just mount them below the steering column.

Both our 05 and 09 have their trailer brake controllers there
Not really a problem with 1500, but having it to te left side gets annoying hitting it when you let the clutch out
