Mine came with the bracket, there is just no good place to put it under the dash. So I mounted it to the floor. I wasn't real crazy about the idea of using self tapping screws through the floor either. I used quite a bit of silicone on the underside afterward.

I debated for a while where to mount my Conex 3300HP 10 meter/CB radio in my 06 Megacab dually.
In the end,I just installed a carpet dash cover,ran the coax/power cables up thru the dash,and just put commercial grade Velcro on the factory radio bracket and stuck it to the dash cover.
It turned out to be the best place for it.It's easy to see,reach,and it's not in the way of anything.
As long as you velcro the dash cover to the dash,the radio will never move,and if you need to remove it,it can be done in a few seconds.

OP - dont know if you mounted your radio yet. But I highlights some mounting places in this pic that some members on my other forum have theirs mounted. If installed in dash, you need to install a small fan or two behind the radio to keep it cool...hope this helps bud. Also you will need to cut some plastic out with a dremmel

You can also stuff it between the seat and console, many people put them there and haven't had any overheating

I shoved my girlfriends uniden between the passenger seat and center consol of her 3rd gen
I've had it there for 2 years now without problems but I also have it set up with a 12v accessory plug on it and just plug it in to the plug in the consol

Here is how I have my 2m / 70cm radio mounted in my truck. I made a mount out of some wood and than wrapped it in cloth. This way it is pointing to the driver.
