Center console shifter

So I was wondering the if anyone has pulled the shifter out of the console. Im wondering if its electronic or mechanical. I wanted the console when i bought my truck, but the said i had to buy an r/t. im trying to figure out how hard the swap would be.

Push bottom down (chrome), pinch ears and pull shifter up. Easy.

that's a good question, and if you find you can do this conversion you should do a write up because there are probably others that want to do it too.

Well one of the tings I was thinking was if it is electronic then you could build a full custom console and put the shifter wherever you wanted. I personally really like the stock console.

very true. I wish i knew if it was electronic or not. If i had to guess i would say it is

Ive had mine apart never really paid attention was painting it but id say electronic with all the wires that were attached to it.
