Hi, I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi. The other day it cut out really bad after operating perfectly normal earlier in the day. Almost like a bad plug wire. I then noticed the CEL and lightning bolt on the dash were lit up. The lightning bolt is now flashing. The truck then started to lose power significantly and would die at stop lights if I didnt hold my foot on the gas. I knew it had a bad battery so I replaced it after pulling codes p0129 (barometric pressure), p401 (EGR I think), and p2174 (throttle actuator). Of course I do not know what any of this means as far as what is causing the problems. Reset the codes and did not work. Dash is still lit up, but it has a little power now and doesnt stall at stop lights. Sure it will with any significant amount of driving though.

One guy I took it to with no diagnostic equipment said it sounds like the tranny to him and he couldnt help me....Any ideas here of where I should start?

Would like to have a bit more info before I take it back to the shop for repairs or possibly replace the part myself. Greatly appreciate any assistance.

So you replacd the battery? That should have reset the PCM. Did it backfire? That might have damaged the map sensor. Startup or WOT resets the Barometic pressure setting. Check your MAP wiring connectors. Reset the PCM, clear DTC's and see what comes up.
