I just replaced the stock Air Filter with a K&N replacement. Now every 400 miles i am getting a hard turbo code. I have reset it a couple of times and it comes back. It was back on for a day now, I started up the truck this morning and the check engine light was not illuminated.
I am wondering if the alarm is being caused by the greater air flow?

Maybe you should put the factory air filtration system back on the truck as it is capable of filtering enough air for the engine. I have an S&B cold air intake on my Cummins and am considering putting the factory air box back. I installed the S&B because at the time the replacement filters were so expensive, but now they can be bought very reasonable. I wouldn't have the hassle of cleaning and oiling a filter after every change.
