Needed my jack the other day to assist getting a rented U-Haul trailer of the hitch ball. It seemed simple enough until I started to loosen the jack under the seat. It just kept turning but loosened up. Sure enough it was rusted to what I guess would be considered a captive nut? Anyway, long story short, I was at an out of state storage facility with no tools except one screwdriver which I wound up using to basically enlarge the hole on the bottom of the truck. This allowed me to pull out the bolt and captive nut. Now I have to patch the hole! If you live in an area that uses salt on the roads you might want to check yours, remove and grease it up that way you don't get any unexpected surprises.

When I bought my ram that jack was missing, and those wobbly little things are sketchy to me. I keep a bottle jack/jack stand combo in my toolbox. Used it a couple times, works well.
