What’s going on guys, so decided to give the old girl a wash today and noticed my clear coat on the PS edge of the bed is flaking. Any else have this issue and if so what you did to fix it? It’s minimal but I would hate to have to get a paint job or something done for a truck I recently bought haha. Let me know what you guys think.

If it was me I'd sand out the clear and blend it in as best I could and then tape off the area a little past the damaged area and hit it with 5 or 6 light coats of 2k clear so I could sand and buff it to blend into the original once cured.

What grit could I use without damaging the paint? Or would I have to paint and clear coat it?

I'd start around a 400 grit and focus on the clearcoat if you take it slow you should be able to preserve the paint. If you go too deep the dealer sells paint match rattlecans of mopar paint they match based on sn and paint code. So you can touch up the area before you re clear. The paint match is usually close enough to blend well. You may see a difference in the clear even after you polish, but I've had good luck and it will keep it from peeling further in that area.

Stop by any professional detail shop and ask them if they would measure the depth of your paint around that spot. That will determine what grit sandpaper to start with
