The only thing I can say for certain is the truck doesn't have that stupid fan roar when you first start it. It was worth the removal just for that!

My 2015 with the clutch fan screams on startup. Removing the clutch fan is usually worth about 8-12hp. Not a huge improvement but not bad either considering how cheap of an upgrade it is.

The stock one should be OK, but on the 09-12, I prefer to replace the stock AC fan with the V6 model fan. You can buy this real cheap if you go with the TYC #622320 fan.

I ran my stock AC fan without the shroud for a week while I waited on a non broken V6 fan to come in. It did the job but the temps seem to fluctuate quite a bit in traffic and I had easily a 5-8 degree variance. The V6 fan is consistent and runs as much as 4 degrees cooler than the other did. In my case having a shroud might have helped with the original, people tend to forget the importance of a shroud.

Yeah I'm having that happen right now. I don't have the bottom portion of my shroud on and my temps are all over the place.
