can anyone who has or had a cobra 75 wxst hand held radio answer a question for me? when you plug in a headphone jack into the auxiliary port located on the hide-away box, does it automatically kill sound to the hand-held part of the unit, or do you have to turn down the volume on the hand held? meaning, is it theoretically possible to hear the sound from both an auxiliary speaker AND the hand-held unit at the same time, or is the box "smart" enough to know that a wire is plugged into it and kill sound to the hand-held?
i'm installing mine tonight, and i want to throw the box behind the dash with a headphone cable plugged into it, but i want the ability to hear the sound from either the hand-held unit or an auxiliary speaker without having to fish for the box and unplug the cable. i'm fearing that will not be the case, which limits the locations i can install this box even further.
