Anyone have knowledge with this tranny speed in speed out code? Its second code in pic. Does not. Set light but it’s always present when i scan. Tranny seems fine and has been serviced. I read it reads speed in, speed out and wheel speed together. I wonder if its my 3;55 gears that i got as option and they weren’t programmed into truck? Or possibly a TSB was issued for this?

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) can detect rationality failures of the input (turbine) speed sensor and output speed sensor signals as well as the wheel speed and engine speed signals received through the Controller Area Network (CAN).
The TCM performs three diagnostic checks that include:
- Multi sensor comparisons of up to three speed signals (input, output and wheel speed).
- Monitoring of the gradient of the input speed signal.
- Double failure monitoring to determine unique failure situations which could require unique limp-in functionality.

Based on this description of the code. I think you are headed to the dealer unless you want to fire the parts cannon

Either a dealer or an independent shop with a professional grade scanner to read live data can diagnose it.

Finding an independent who is qualified can be iffy. Sometimes a dealer is the safe bet because they will definitely have the right equipment and training.

You may find it’s only intermittent bad data on the comm bus. I say this because all 3 of my latest FCA vehicles are prone to spurious error messages. Such as traction control, cameras unavailable, service stability control…

None of them are persistent and disappear on restart. I can’t reproduce them on demand, it’s just random.

It’s my guess the coding in the vehicle is not fault tolerant or is not properly calibrated to the real world capabilities of the relevant sensors or communication buss.
